RECCO®
A RECCO reflector built into clothing or gear provides a way to be searchable by professional rescue teams with RECCO detectors.
The RECCO technology is a global standard for avalanche rescue and handheld detectors are carried by professional rescue teams worldwide.
RECCO SAR Helicopter Detectors are also used from air to scan large areas fast for a missing person. The reflectors do not replace personal transceivers and companion rescue but don’t need to be turned on and provide a back-up to always be searchable to professional rescuers.

Story: Sarek Expedition
On the way to Bastevagge, the group ran into Åke, a retired doctor from Gällivare.
"It's rare to run into people in this part of Sarek National Park, but on our way back we met Åke, who had been out with skis and pulk for ten days by himself in Sarek, something he apparently does every year", says Mountain Guide Tovo Spiral.
Åke was wearing a pair of old Freke Salopettes and a Brede Jacket, and a version of the Mysse Explorer's Cap from 1992 - equipment that has been frequently used and loved, that has lasted until this day - and that will last for years ahead.

PrimaLoft® Bio
Most products we use are made from materials that shed microfibers during washing and wear and. These microfibers are harmful and may pollute our oceans, landfills and waterways. PrimaLoft® Bio fibers were developed to return to the materials found in nature, in an effort to reduce the environmental impact of microfibers and garments throughout their life. Same great performance, but with a new holistic solution of the journey of a garment.

Recycled Polyester
For over a decade we have been working with recycled polyester, which creates a net benefit from a sustainability perspective. The recycling process is significantly less harmful than virgin polyester production while material that would end up in a land-fill is put to good use. The process reduces water, air and soil pollution and saves energy compared to virgin polyester manufacturing, and reduces existing waste. Our recycled polyester is made from post-industrial waste and post-consumer PET-bottles, which makes it a double win. The resulting fabrics not only match but out-perform fabrics made from virgin polyester. Our process replaces virgin resources with superior know-how to create a wider benefit in both performance and sustainability.

Ski Shells Guide
Investing in a premium shell will enhance any winter day’s activity, but it can be hard to know which shell jacket to choose. We are avid lovers of ski mountaineering, backcountry skiing, and alpinism, something that shines through in our carefully developed selection of shell jackets. Our ski shell jackets are designed for longevity and ultimate performance with just the right features, all in a durable waterproof Cutan® fabric that is fluorocarbon-free. All jackets are equipped with a RECCO® reflector and feature a helmet-compatible hood. Crafted for life, these shell jackets are made to last for many ski adventures to come. Here we will guide you through our shell jackets that are perfect for the mountain. Waterproofness All our shells are made from Cutan® - a Klättermusen proprietary technology developed to improve on existing breathable, waterproof fabrics. Cutan® fabrics are fluorocarbon free, soft, and silent. At Klättermusen we also use a DWR (durable water repellant) that is 100% free of fluorocarbons. DWR is a treatment that creates a water repellent (hydrophobic) surface on the fabric and makes sure to keep you dry throughout the day. Activities Our shell jackets are designed with an activity in mind, meaning that features and fit are optimal for that intended use. Our main focuses are backcountry skiing, ski mountaineering, and alpinism, but the jackets can of course be used for any outdoor activities you see fit. Fit Klättermusen jackets typically have an articulated fit that allows for freedom of movement, crucial for skiing. The fit may vary from a more relaxed fit for backcountry skiing, to a closer, athletic fit for alpine skiing. Jackets can vary in length, with some being longer for extra coverage, while others are shorter for a more athletic look. This means that a size Large can appear different in size since the intended usage and movement will differ. Choosing your normal size will make the fit match the intended use. If a more relaxed fit is preferred, then we suggest going up a size.
